The weekend

Dancing at Carabar

Lots and lots to do this weekend.  J is coming into town tomorrow morning for the long weekend (no work on Monday!) so we'll be running around the city, hand in hand, trying to keep warm and doing some fun stuff.

Tonight, I am heading to Webster Hall  for Girls & Boys, with Glass Candy, Chromatics, and others.  Justine D. is the promoter for the show and it looks like she throws some pretty rad events.  She was giving away a pair of tickets nearly every day this week for tonight's show and somehow I managed to score a couple of those tickets.  Really stoked for the show and ready to dance my ass off.

Tomorrow, the Museum of the Moving Image is set to reopen after three years of being closed.  To celebrate there are a number of special events and exhibits scheduled for this weekend.  Saturday night the museum is holding their inaugural Signal to Noise Party.  They describe it as "a three-ring circus of live electronic music, moving image performances, and interactive art. Artists, hackers, musicians, and filmmakers will activate every area of the Museum late into the night."  Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

Sunday, we may head down to Union Hall for Show and Tell.  This is a monthly event that features stories from writers, story tellers, comedians, and others who share their stories with help from some visual aids (similar to Speak Easy back in Cbus).  This month's theme is Home Ec.  $5 for five stories.  I think it sounds like fun.

Monday, well, Monday is likely going to be a lazy and luxurious day of NOTHING.

Oh yes, and somewhere in there we'll be hunting down another photobooth machine
