What I Saw: Jazz Age Lawn Party

On the ferry to Governor's Island for the Jazz Age Lawn Party

Jon was back in Brooklyn this weekend!

On Friday we drove to Philly to celebrate with our friends Sam and Rachel.

It was Sam's birthday AND he and Rachel got engaged!  Such a great evening.

Saturday we caught a ride on the ferry to Governor's Island for the Jazz Age Lawn Party.  The party was complete with a live band playing music from the era, antique cars, and vendors selling vintage accessories and clothing.

We got a chance to chat with Rose who works with Goorin Brothers Hat Shop.  They're based in California but they recently opened a shop in Manhattan, located at 337 Bleecker Street.  Jon was stoked to see them because he is a big fan of their hats.

The place was filled with people dressed from the 1920's.

We relaxed and people watched and after the party did a little exploring.

If you missed the party, not to worry!  They are hosting another one in August.  Just check out The Dreamland Orchestra's calendar for their upcoming event information.
